Rain

It just rained. This was far more exciting than Vin Diesel in XXX (action, not porno). Walking back from the post office I crossed a river. A black river. Black with decaying matter, filth, dead things. Within the dark water swirled darker shades of dust, which had taken itself into the water, perhaps the air was too clear, the houses too brilliant in the light of the setting sun, the jealous black waters.

My exercise in printing free books was a partial success. For 100 B, less than $3, I printed Basic Concepts of Mathematics. No sweat. The version I printed is for binding at the top, which makes it an impractical affair. It would be better to print the 2xA4 size so it can be folded into a regular sized book. Maybe I can figure this out with the regular A4 size printed 2 to a page. We'll see.

The sandals and lens my cousin sent me from my suitcase of goodies arrived on schedule. The post office pulled up the box, checked my passport, and all was well. Nikon doesn't even include a proper rear lens-cap with the 50 mm f 1.8, but my cousin included a spare in the box. Along with an allen wrench, which I requested, but now can't for the life of me figure out what it opens--I was hoping it would fit the lock screws on my Kirk tripod plate. I put a crap Kenko 52 mm UV filter (170 B) on the lens, uncoated, which makes it lousy--I really shouldn't have it on there. Most importantly, my feet are cool and my eye is happy.
